Project Overview
The City of Melton is rapidly growing, with new families and businesses joining the community. We need to ensure a clean and reliable water supply into the future.
That's why we installed a new water main along Beattys Road, so that we can continue to provide water to a growing community. As part of these works, we installed sections of pipe:
- along Beattys Road, crossing under Plumpton Road
- parallel to Modena Road and Verona Crescent
- in a section of the road reserve along Taylors Road
- in a section of the road reserve along Melton Highway

When was it constructed?
Construction began in June 2023, and was complete in early 2024.
Project Updates
Construction is expected to be complete on the Beattys Road section of the project by early September 2023.
Works will then begin on Modena Road and Verona Crescent from late August 2023. We will be installing the new water main in the road reserve on the eastern side of these roads.
What to expect during these works
- Construction will be carried out in sections to minimise impacts on traffic and residents. This will start at the southern end of Modena Road and move north.
- One lane of Modena Road and Verona Crescent will be closed around the worksite. Traffic management will be in place to help vehicles access the area.
- Once works in each section are complete, we will temporarily reopen the area. We will then come back once construction is complete to return the area to its original condition.
