Works complete

Construction on the water main is now complete.

We've been upgrading a section of water main adjacent to High Street, Melton and in the Melton Valley Golf Club.

The existing water main did not have the capacity to carry the volume of water needed, and to regulate water pumping speed. That's why we built a duplicate pipe along the same alignment, to help ensure we can meet the needs of the community.

We used trenchless methods to install the new pipe by digging holes at key locations along the alignment, and then drilling underneath the ground – rather than digging an open trench. This helped us minimise the impacts of the work on the surrounding area.

When did construction happen?

Preliminary works to prepare the site for construction started from late February 2023.

Construction began in mid March 2023, and was complete in August 2023.
