Project overview

The sewer network servicing Cala and Indwe streets in West Footscray is nearing capacity. To ensure we can continue to deliver safe and reliable sewerage services to customers in the area, we are installing 900 metres of new sewer pipe along Cala and Indwe Streets as well as along Stony Creek. This will support the existing sewer and reduce pressure on the existing infrastructure.

The new sewer pipe will be installed in early 2022, with the project scheduled to be completed in early 2024.

To reduce the impacts of this work on the environment and community, we will install the new pipe by micro tunneling under the road and creek.

There will be some local impacts, including road closures, bicycle and pedestrian diversions as well as construction noise and dust. We will let you know about these ahead of time and keep you informed about any changes.
