• Timing: From early January 2026 until April 2026. We'll share updates as this work progresses.
• Construction hours: 7am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. There will also be some intermittent Saturdays and night works Sunday to Thursday 7.30pm to 5am.

Why does some work need to be completed at night?

We need to do this work at night to reduce disruption to daytime traffic, local businesses and commuters in the busy Melbourne CBD.

What to expect during this work

We'll make every effort to reduce the impact of our work where possible. During this construction you can expect:

• Construction activities will include excavation and saw cutting.
• There will be temporary fencing and barriers in place around our work area.
• You will see trucks, excavators and earth moving equipment.
• Two lanes on Spencer Street will be temporarily closed. One lane will remain open to through traffic, and traffic management will be in place to help vehicles and pedestrians move safely around the area.
